V volunteering opportunities
Do you want to make a real difference to your environment and work with others to make it happen?
BTCV at Skelton Grange Environment Centre in Leeds, working with v and National Grid, offers six-month volunteering opportunities for young people aged 16-25 with a passion for the environment. You'll spend your time learning how to teach kids about the world around them, as well as trying your hand at a variety of practical conservation skills and activities.
- 4 volunteer opportunities available for 16-25 year olds
- 6 month opportunities start in July 2010
- 4 days per week
- Up to £75 per week living expenses paid
- NVQ level 2 in Environmental Conservation or other accreditation
- A great experience!

All volunteers are given full training to become involved in delivering educational activities at Skelton Grange Environment Centre for schoolchildren, and have the opportunity to get involved in all areas of our work.

Recruitment is via an application form and interview - full details of how to apply will be available on this page when recruitment is open. Recruitment will take place around April for opportunities starting in July. BTCV is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. References for shortlisted applicants will be followed up prior to interview, and an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check will be carried out before volunteering opportunities begin. Only relevant convictions will be taken into account, and the process will be strictly confidential. A comprehensive induction process will include training in how to work safely and appropriately with vulnerable groups.
