Volunteering Events
Join the 'Green Team' at Skelton Grange Environment Centre - a monthly opportunity for everyone to come along and help out with some practical tasks on our site. You don't need any experience, just enthusiasm!
Get in touch to let us know if you're planning to come along to any of the events below. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided but please bring a packed lunch. Wear old clothes that you don't mind getting mucky, and dress for the weather.
All events take place at Skelton Grange Environment Centre unless specified below. Directions to the centre can be found here
Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult for all events.
Friday 10th September 9:30am - 3:30pm: Get ready for the Open Day...
Our Open Day (11th September) is the busiest day of the year for Skelton, and we love to have our site looking as perfect as we can. Come and join us the Friday before so we can get all those jobs done - and then why not visit the next day to show it off with your family and friends!
Friday 15th October 9:30am - 3:30pm: Hedge your bets
As Autumn gathers pace, it's time for another seasonal job - maintaining the hedgerows around our site. Help us to give them all a good haircut so they're neat and tidy for the winter, and ready to give us lots of new growth in the spring.
Friday 26th November 9:30am - 3:30pm: National Tree Week
Come and join us for some tree-related activities during National Tree Week - tasks to be confirmed, but it'll have something to do with trees!
Friday 17th December 9:30am - 3:30pm: Winter Wonder
It's the middle of winter, it's nearly Christmas - what will the tasks be today? It's a surprise!
