Volunteering at Skelton Grange

Volunteering is very fun, challenging and worthwhile: so even if you are not so "career minded" being a volunteer at Skelton Grange is a great way to spend your time.

Many people have used volunteering here as a springboard to launching a career in the environment sector or teaching.  At Skelton we aim to provide the opportunity for volunteers to develop new skills and demonstrate existing ones.
Volunteers can then apply for jobs with confidence that they have real work experience behind them.

Skelton Grange is managed by BTCV, a national vounteer charity, and as such we take supporting and developing our volunteers very seriously.  The BTCV Volunteer Officer scheme is nationally recognised as being a well structured way to begin a career in the voluntary or environment sectors.  There are plenty of training opportunities, and volunteers who come in for two or more days a week may be able to work towards an NVQ in Environmental Conservation.
