Foundation Stage

We offer a range of hands-on sessions that are ideal for Foundation Stage groups. We run half day Exploring Nature sessions for nursery age children and full day Exploring Nature sessions for reception age children.  For more information about them please select one from the menu to the left.

All our days for this age group support delivery of the EYFS framework including the four guiding themes and the learning and development requirements, particularly many areas of Personal, Social and Emotional Development and Knowledge and Understanding of the World.

The sessions will take place outside in our wildlife area as much as possible, encouraging an interest in and understanding of the natural world. We will help children to observe and talk about what they see, and to find answers to questions they may have.

The learning environment we provide is a safe and caring one, where children can develop confidence to explore, to try new activities and develop a respect for the animals and plants around us.

Times

Our nursery sessions usually last for around 2 hours, and can be flexible to suit individual schools. Two different groups may be booked for the same day in morning and afternoon slots. Reception groups usually come for a whole day session (10am til 2.30pm).

Milk and Fruit

Feel free to bring milk and/or fruit to eat/drink at the centre. If you would like to do this we ask that you in advance, so we can schedule the session with this in mind.
