Exploring Nature (Nursery)
We offer a range of Exploring Nature half day sessions for nursery groups which support the 'Knowledge and Understanding of the World' area of learning. The themes we offer depend on the season and are listed below. The sessions include lots of outdoor exploration - for example hunting for hedgehog food or ladybirds - and then a selection of other activities such as painting and stories. The themes we offer are:
Exploring Spring (March to May)
Exploring Ladybirds (June and July)
Exploring Hedgehogs (September to November)
Exploring Birds (December to February)
New activity day under development
We are in the process of developing a Wild in the Woods day, based on our successful longer Wild in the Woods programme. This would be a woodland activity day and would include activities such as shelter building, woodland crafts, campfire activities and games. The day would be based completely outside and would be suitable all year round. We hope to run this day from September 2011, but as it's still under development we'd really like to hear from teachers who are interested, for your thoughts on how the day could best meet the needs of your class. Contact us to let us know what you think!
