This site contains some lovely seasonal play and nature discovery and exploration activities suitable for 3-11 year olds.

Loads of lesson plans and resources relating to food growing with children

The RHS have also just published a really interesting report, Gardening  in Schools - A vital tool for children's learning, which reports on the positive impacts of gardening on children's wellbeing, learning and overall development. 

Canterbury Environmental Education Centre

Lots of useful information and some ideas for activities - including a virtual pond dip which is great, especially if you don't have your own pond.

Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust (BBOWT) resources for teachers

BBOWT have put together a Go Wild Across the Curriculum pack, which shows all the curriculum links for environmental activities, but also has some ideas for activities that you can do in your school wildlife area.

The Great Plant Hunt

To mark the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, commissioned and funded by the Wellcome Trust, has created The Great Plant Hunt. This exciting project will encourage children to explore the natural world around them and join other schools in the biggest ever school science project. A fantastic site - well put together, with resources for all ages, with curriculum links, videos, teachers handbooks
